British Sausage Week 2013
4th Nov 2013
The seven-days of sausage appreciation will run from 4th to 10th November 2013, providing pubs, restaurants and canteens with opportunities to benefit from increased sales.
Raising awareness of quality assured sausages, such as Red Tractor, British Sausage Week is one of the highlights of the culinary calendar. This year’s activity will include a combination of high profile PR campaign, the prestigious ‘BPEX Foodservice Sausage of the Year competition’ and point-of-sale promotional material; to ensure everyone in the sector has an opportunity to get involved.
Tony Goodger, BPEX’s foodservice trade manager, said: “Sausages are undeniably a huge hit with diners. Latest figures show that they are dished up at more than half a billion meal occasions annually, accounting for 1 in 5 of all red meat servings out of the home (source: NPD Crest, June 2012).No other food elicits quite as much affection, making British Sausage Week truly an event not to be missed.
“It is never too early to start planning and looking at ways your business can benefit. Creating new varieties, introducing timely promotions or holding charity events are all ideas that can help raise awareness and boost sales.
“So if you serve great sausages make a date for British Sausage Week and use it to your advantage.”
