Holdsworth, the latest Today’s member to distribute Take Stock, is going through an exciting period of growth and expansion.
The company recently relocated its Northampton depot to larger premises in Wilstead, Bedford. Covering 26,300 sq ft, the premises have the potential for further expansion and feature a warehouse and cold store – enabling it to service its customer base more easily.
The Wilstead move comes on the back of a £1 million investment in a new freezer and dry goods store at the Evesham depot, a £1 million investment in a new 15,000 sq ft unit in Derbyshire to cater for the growing range of chilled, frozen and ambient goods and 40 new multi-temperature vehicles.
Since Holdsworth was founded by Chairman Michael Holdsworth in 1969, the family-owned, privately run company has grown so it now employs more than 270 members of staff across seven depots in Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Bedfordshire, Worcestershire and Powys.
In addition to the above, they’ve acquired four new businesses in recent years, including a specialist catering butchery which has greatly increased the range and diversity of products on offer.
The company stocks around 5,000 frozen, chilled and ambient lines which are supplied wholesale to pubs, hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars and other catering outlets.
Holdsworth prides itself on working with customers to develop their menus and are happy to source bespoke products on their behalf. The company also works with customers to increase food sales by advising on menu planning and product sourcing.
