Quick Vegan Kidney Bean Burgers

  • 400g kidney beans
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 2 tsp mixed herbs
  • 115g gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 50g semolina
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil


  1. Drain, rinse and mash kidney beans and mix with tomatoes, garlic and herbs
  2. Add breadcrumbs and semolina and mix, add soy sauce and lemon juice - if necessary add a tablespoon of water to increase moisture
  3. Shape into burgers and gently fry in vegetable oil for 10-15 minutes
  4. Serve on lightly toasted gluten-free burger buns or seeded rolls, with crisp lettuce, chutney, ketchup, onion and
    gherkin. Add cheese for vegetarians!
